Public Meeting on St. Simons Island, Georgia Forcemain
The Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water & Sewer Commission will be holding a Public Information Meeting on December 13 related to the soon to start Pump Station 2032 Regional Forcemain Improvements Project on St. Simons Island.
The project will provide essential updates to the sanity sewer system in order to support existing sewer customers as well as inflow & infiltration. It is expected to have limited impact to adjacent neighborhoods, public roads and bike paths.
The project includes the installation of approx. 10,450 LF of 16" HDPE DR11 forcemain by directional boring (horizontal directional drilling, HDD); 760 LF of 16" PVC DR18 forcemain by open cut; 15 LF of 10" PVC DR18 forcemain by open cut; 87 LF of 30" DI gravity sewer rehabilitation by cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) and by-pass pumping. The meeting will have a drop-in format with displays of the project route for viewing, informational handouts and comment forms. Personnel from JWSC, Glynn County, Four Waters Engineering, and the contractor, T.B. Landmark, Inc. will be available to discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis. All citizens are invited to attend.
